Question: I have so many bills from doctors and hospitals that I don't know what to do. I was in a car crash and I was injured and I went to the hospital and they even did surgery on me. I was insured, but I didn't have enough money to pay for everything and I racked up some serious medical bills. I wanted to ask a Roswell bankruptcy lawyer if I can I include doctor, medical and hospital bills if I file bankruptcy?
Totally unrelated to the car crash is the stroke I had. I didn't ever think I'd have a stroke, but I had one. The doctor warned me several times that I could have a stroke because my father and grandfather had them and because I'm probably 90 pounds or so overweight. But I didn't lose the weight even after doing Weight Watchers; I think I gained weight, actually. I work in restaurants and I'm eating all the time; I love donuts, just like everybody else. Same problem with the car accident. I just didn't have enough insurance to cover the bills.
I need to know if I can file bankruptcy on my medical and doctor bills.
Maybe I went to expensive hospitals and saw pricey doctors, I don't really know. But I got taken to Northside Hospital and Emory University Hospital. I mean they're good hospitals, but expensive. And my doctors were good, but also expensive.
Now I've got these medical bills and the doctors also want their money. They all want to get paid. They deserve payment, I get that, but I just don't have the money to pay. I want to get rid of these huge debts and I want to know if I can include them in my bankruptcy. Please help me get out from under these hospital, medical and doctor bills.
Also, I'm working and I make a decent salary, so I'm not poor. But these bills are just huge and I will never be able to pay them off. Can I get rid of doctor and hospital bills if I file bankruptcy?

Answer: Yes, you can eliminate doctor, hospital, and all kinds of medical debt if you file for bankruptcy. The bankruptcy law allows you to get rid of all kinds of medical debt. So any debts you have from hospitals, clinics, physicians, etc., can be included in your filing, just like credit card bills and other debts.
And whether you file a Chapter 7 or a Chapter 13, you can eliminate your medical debt just like to eliminate credit card bills.
We have help good people going through difficult times eliminate vast amounts of health care debt.
