Question: I went to a movie with some friends and we were using some powdered alcohol. The movie wasn't that great, but the powered booze got us buzzed up. I didn't realize that you could get so drunk so fast on that powder. My friend got the alcohol powder from a dentist, who said to just add some water and drink it. The dentist got it when he was in Japan. The guy said that you can take the stuff anywhere and just put it into your drink and it'll help you catch a buzz.
So we brought it to a movie and just put it into our sodas. So we watched the whole movie, ate popcorn and got way more drunk than I wanted to. After the movie I drove and I got stopped by a Forsyth Deputy Sheriff for failure to maintain lane. I couldn't maintain the lane because I was too drunk. I admit that.
But I never thought that I'd get that drunk from powder. Now I need a Forsyth DUI attorney to help me with this thing because I know what happens if you get a DUI in Forsyth and how tough the prosecutors are. I heard it's one of the worst places to get a DUI in Georgia.
Can I use the fact that I only got drunk from powdered alcohol and not from real alcoholic drinks? That alcohol powder sure packs a punch.

Answer: Powdered alcohol is becoming increasingly popular, although it has been around for many decades. It is easily transportable in a packet, so you don't have to worry about bottles or cans. And it can contain a lot of alcohol, which can be mixed with any beverage, including water, soda and fruit juices.
It is, in fact, banned in the state of Georgia.
People who use alcohol powder need to know exactly how much they are using. Simply putting it in drinks can cause people to become severely intoxicated, because they are not measuring it properly and have no idea how much they are consuming.
We have even heard of people snorting it, like cocaine or other drugs.
Although it is powdered, it can still be detected through conventional breath and blood tests. The fact that you used alcohol powder and not a conventional alcoholic beverage will not help you as a DUI defense. You were still under the influence of alcohol.
