Question: I was charged for a DUI in Sandy Springs after I got pulled over on Hammond Drive. I'm basically looking for help to handle this drunk driving charge the right way. It's my first DUI ever and it's definitely going to be my last, that's for sure. Being arrested and sitting in jail is not fun.
I just had too much to drink at my house and when the wife and I went out to eat I got stopped, and the Sandy Springs cop said I was speeding and he gave me a DUI. I hadn't drank all that much, just wine. But I'd been drinking for several hours and doing work around the house so I guess I was buzzed enough. Although I felt good and not inebriated from drinking.
I guess I was speeding; I wasn't really paying attention because I drive that road all the time. Then I saw the cop's blue lights, I pulled over, and the cop started asking me questions. I told him I'd had a couple of wines and I did his DUI tests, and I thought he was going to let me go, but then he arrested me for DUI. I think I passed the tests.
I took the breath test and it was .129. So I was a little bit drunk, but I drink a lot, or at least pretty regularly, so I don't think it impacted my driving too much. But maybe I'm wrong.
Now I want a Sandy Springs DUI lawyer to give me some advice and help. Maybe tell me some things to expect and where I have to go to court and who are the prosecutors. I'd like to schedule an appointment with you because you handled my sister's DUI and she was happy with how it went.

Answer: The city of Sandy Springs has its own municipal court that handles a variety of charges under Georgia state law, including traffic and DUI charges, as well as local ordinance violations.
The prosecutors are led by Bill Riley, whose law firm acts as solicitors for the city. Mr. Riley is also the prosecutor in other jurisdictions.
Since Sandy Springs is in Fulton County, if the case can't be resolved in the municipal court, then it can be sent to the State Court of Fulton County. Jury trials not available in municipal courts in Georgia, so if a jury trial is requested, it must be sent to the state court in Atlanta.
The address of the municipal court is: 7840 Roswell Rd, Atlanta, GA 30350.
